Netball Information 2012

I would like to welcome new and existing coaches and managers to Roncalli netball.  It is greatly appreciated that you are offering your time and expertise enabling our Roncalli girls to play netball and increase their skills and knowledge in netball and to have fun. 

Roncalli College has 12 Netball Teams entered into the local Netball South Canterbury Competition for 2012.  I would like to wish all teams the best for an enjoyable and successful season.

Netball Information 2012:
 

• Start Date – Saturday 21^st April 2012
• Senior Competition – This year the Senior Competition format will take a new look for the 2012 season with the introduction of a Secondary School grade for teams graded Senior B down.
• Game Times – Game times 12.15pm, 1.15pm, 2.15pm and 3.15pm.
• Fill in team cards downstairs inside (old canteen) Umpires collect cards from outside (old canteen).
• Affiliation Fees – Secondary Schools - $704.95 (incl gst) per team. 

12 Roncalli teams x $704.95 = $8459.40 (Due Mid June 2012)

• Late registrations will be at $30.00 for the April-June months and $20.00 for July-August months, per player.
• Defaults – you must notify Jose so defaults can be registered with the Admin Officer by Friday 12 noon, prior to Saturdays play.

Each team will be allowed ONE default per season with no fee incurred – the Admin Officer is to be advised by the agreed time frame.  Each default thereafter will incur a $75 fee.  Late defaults will incur a $10 fee. 
Non notified defaults will incur a $150 fee.
Moral of the story NO DEFAULTS! – A reminder to all players of their commitment for the season.  Any default incurred will be paid by the respective team and players, not Roncalli Netball.

• Umpire Fines – If a team fails to turn up for umpiring duties a team fine of $60.00 will be imposed and the loss of 3 competition points will be deducted from the relevant team.  If only one umpire turns up, the fine will be $30.00 but no loss of competition points.

If a Roncalli team fails to turn up for umpiring duties the $60.00 fine will be paid by the players of that team, not Roncalli netball.

• St Johns – There will be no St Johns on site again this year.  There will be ice on site available to teams.
• SC Netball Registration Team Sheets - These are currently being completed to be handed into Netball South Canterbury before our 1^st competition game.  I will email a copy when completed.
• Reminder – If any team needs to borrow players from another team – you can only borrow players registered below your team and most important this must be arranged directly with the coach of that team and not the player.
• Games WILL NOT be played Queens Birthday Weekend.
• Reminder – there are ONLY two exceptions for wearing jewellery during a game – a taped wedding ring and a taped medic alert bracelet.
• Roncalli Netball Managers document – Please find attached managers document that the netball committee have put together to assist our managers.
• Team Gear Bags and Bibs – All teams have received their gear bags.  I also have the playing bibs for the teams I have not given. 
• Netball uniforms – all players have been distributed uniforms.  It is big task fitting many players – if a player’s uniform is not the right size, please contact me.  There may be some players who could swap with a player in their team so they are better fitted.  We want them to be comfortable on the court.
• Netball Tracksuits – The Senior A, B, C, junior 10A and 9A netball teams will be distributed their tracksuits early term two.
• Practice times – the document attached is a draft copy – if there are any changes/additions to team practice times, please let me know.
• Netball contacts – coaches & managers – also if there are any changes/additions to details, please let me know.
• Netball Draw - The netball draw will be available on the Netball SC website www.netballsouthcanterbury.co.nz Tuesday afternoons and I will email all teams a break-down of the Roncalli draw and umpiring duties.
• Results – I would like to ask a delegate (coach or manager) of each team to text me their results each weekend i.e. Ronc 9A2 won 27 v TGHS 9B 24.  Text to 027 341 9294. 
• Cheese Roll Fundraiser – The 10A and 9A’s will again be carrying out the successful cheese roll fundraiser to assist with the SISS Junior Tournament in Christchurch.  All netballers have been handed out order forms at the end of term one.  Cheese roll orders and Monday are due to the school office by Friday 4^th May.  Sunday 20^th May is the big day where the cheese rolls will be made in the foods room at Roncalli.  So put this date in your diary.  All 10A and 9A players and family members must be available to help as the money raised will go directly to their tournament costs.  No assistance, no money.
• SC Netball Representative Nominations – SC Netball trials are ‘self-nominated’ this year.  All players were given forms to complete and return the Netball SC.  They are holding senior rep team trials on Sunday 29^th April 9.30am – 3.30pm at the SBS Events Centre.

Final senior rep trial 6.00pm – 8.00pm at SBS Events Centre.
