Roncalli College prides itself on the personal yet professional bond between staff and students.  A strong network of guidance, counselling and pastoral care is provided.

Staff 

International students are supported by the Director of International Students, Mr Gerry Fennessy; International Student Administrator, Mrs Cathy Shearer; and ESOL Teacher, Mrs Chrissy Mckinnon.  In addition to these people the College has an extensive guidance network involving a Counsellor, Careers Adviser, Deans at each year level and House Group Teachers.

Accommodation

The College arranges homestays with caring and supportive New Zealand families.  Living with a New Zealand family is a great way to improve your English and find out more about the New Zealand way of life.

Homestay arrangements and regular homestay checks are carried out by the International Staff team.  We provide a culture of care to make our students feel comfortable and at home in a new environment.

Orientation

Orientation formalities help students familiarise themselves with the College environment and to complete Code administration requirements.  The Orientation programme is held before school commences in terms 1, 2 and 3.  Orientation includes:

• Meeting the International Student Department Staff
• English Assessment tests to ensure students are placed in appropriate classes
• Course discussion and approval
• Campus tour
• Completion of Code of Practice requirements
• Assistance with uniform
• Discussion of any issues of concern
