English for Speakers of Other Languages
ESOL students are placed in the classes/programmes that best meet their needs. An initial decision about class placement is made after a selection of diagnostic assessments and a discussion about future goals.
Our diagnostic assessment covers: speaking, listening, writing, reading, grammar and vocabulary. From this assessment the students are placed in one of five groups
* If a student is at a Beginning level, we offer an Intensive English Programme before commencing Stage 1, where the student has either 1 to 1 teaching or is part of a very small group. This programme usually is held over a period of 6 – 8 weeks.
